Malcolm Simpson

Owner and Managing Director of SimpsInns, Ayrshire

Malcolm Simpson is the founder, owner and Managing Director of SimpsInns, a privately owned and proudly independent hospitality business based in Ayrshire. SimpsInns comprises of three luxury hotels (The Gailes Hotel & Spa, The Waterside Hotel and Old Loans Inn) as well as Si Bar: Restaurant and Gailes Golf: Leisure which encompasses the luxurious new Si! Spa, a leisure club, driving range and golf academy.

Outwith SimpsInns, Malcolm is also the owner/director of Wilkinson Golf and Travel and RDK Construction. He is on the board of The Coig, Ayrshire and Arran Tourism Alliance and Ayrshire Golf Scotland, and was previously on the board of NAC Regeneration and Ayrshire College Foundation.

Malcolm lives in Ayrshire with his wife Karen who he started the business with in 1998 having worked in management for a multinational hospitality business. Malcolm and Karen have two sons, Lee and Jack who both work for SimpsInns.

In his spare time Malcolm enjoys making the most of Ayrshire and Arran; he is an avid walker and has recently taken up golf. He enjoys travelling especially city breaks, skiing and is goes to the gym when time permits.
