Ayrshire & Arran Destination Alliance (AADA) have released a series of six new 'Taste Trails' to highlight the region's natural larder. The trails celebrate the best of Ayrshire and Arran’s local produce, and the businesses where people can enjoy world-class local food and drink across the area. Ayrshire & Arran Destination Alliance were successful in securing funding from the Regional Food Fund Scotland for the development of six of 'Taste Trails' which are now available online.
The Taste Trails are the ultimate guides to the region’s best food and drink, providing ideas, inspiration and authentic experiences for a relaxing foodie escape and are based around the following six themes:
- Arran Taste Trail
- Farm to Fork Taste Trail
- Vegan and Vegetarian Taste Trail
- Tipple Taste Trail
- Seafood Taste Trail
- Ice Cream Taste Trail
In addition to the six Taste Trails, AADA have also delivered a 3-day visit from Food and Drink influencers the Foodie Explorers and blog content from travel writer and broadcaster Robin McKelvie. All of this digital activity strengthens the focus on the region’s outstanding food and drink offer.
Chief Executive, Ayrshire & Arran Destination Alliance, Daniel Steel, said:
“It’s no exaggeration to say that the culinary offering in Ayrshire and Arran is sensational. From fresh seafood bursting with flavour to mouth-watering ice creams produced with milk from the region’s famous cows, there’s something to suit every taste and palette.
We are delighted to launch these new visitor experiences to celebrate the area’s natural larder, and to showcase the providers across Ayrshire and Arran".
"As always, our amazing businesses and producers across the region are key to success and have helped us to bring together six new Taste Trails, allowing visitors to plan their trip around one or two eating stops or organise a food crawl sampling some of the best tastes as they go".
Alastair Dobson, Managing Director of Arran Dairies and voluntary AADA Director, said:
"The launch of the six new Taste Trails by AADA brings together a large number of local food and drink producers and is a great addition to Ayrshire and Arran’s tourism offering. We hope that visitors and local people are encouraged to taste their way around the region and enjoy the world class produce and experiences available".
