Thistle Awards Regional Finalists 2023 Celebrating Thriving Communities

Ayrshire & Arran Destination Alliance shortlisted for a Scottish Thistle Award!

We are proud finalists in the ‘Celebrating Thriving Communities’ category for the prestigious 2023 Awards.

The Thistle Awards, known as “Scotland’s Tourism Oscars”, recognise excellence across the Scottish tourism industry, with regional winners progressing to a national final later in the year.

The ‘Celebrating Thriving Communities’ category celebrates partnerships, collaborations and team working - coming together to protect and enhance our environment whilst growing social, cultural, and economic wealth.

AADA meets these criteria as we continue to work on bringing tourism businesses together, working collaboratively to grow the visitor economy sustainably, to deliver benefits for businesses and communities throughout the region.

Daniel Steel, Chief Executive of Ayrshire & Arran Destination Alliance, said: “It’s fantastic to be shortlisted for the Thistle Awards. We’re very proud that our inclusion recognises our organisation’s ongoing dedication to working in collaboration with the region’s tourism businesses, bringing the whole industry together to benefit the area and grow the visitor economy.

We have delivered so much in the past few years, including development of the region’s first official regional destination website – ayrshireandarran.com, and will continue to grow our membership to galvanise industry and communities around a shared vision of regenerative tourism over the coming years.”

We would also like to congratulate our members and businesses across the region who are also nominated in the various categories.

It is great to see so many businesses shortlisted. This is a testament to the quality of the experiences, and the hard work of our operators across the region.

Best of luck to everyone!
